Prof. Dr. Laurenz Volkmann

Role: Project Manager

Focus of work: EFL teaching

Laurenz Volkmann has been professor for EFL teaching at Friedrich-Schiller University Jena since 2004. His research foci are literature, media and cultural didactics, intercultural learning and globalisation in the EFL classroom. Laurenz Volkmann is author and editor of several publications within the fields of intercultural teaching and learning.

Jun.-Prof. Dr. Lukas Eibensteiner

Role: Project Manager

Focus of work: Didactics of Romance Languages

Lukas Eibensteiner has been junior professor for didactics of romance languages at Friedrich-Schiller University since 2020. His interests of research are second- and third language learning, as well as multilingualism and intercomprehension didactics. Furthermore, he is interested in the promotion of heritage languages, and he reseraches how teachers and teacher training students perceive and consider linguistic diversity in their classes.

In times of the pandemic... I didn't witness much from Germany for a start, but I gathered various international lockdown experiences instead...

Interests: cooking and baking, dancing, literature

In times of the pandemic... I missed parties, tried many new recipes and baked almost daily.

Focus of work: EFL teaching

Silke Braselmann has been research associate at The Chair for EFL teaching since 2020. Her research interests are media didactics, inter- and transcultural learning, and foreign language teaching that is sensible for diversity and critical of discrimination.
